By using advanced technology like all-digital X-ray imaging and intraoral cameras, we’re able to provide our patients with more accurate diagnoses and treatments. We’re also able to save our patients time by using technology that’s updated and functions more efficiently. To learn more about how we utilize the latest dental gadgets during each of your appointments to spot the signs of early oral health problems and develop customized treatment plans, keep reading below.
Our MouthWatch intraoral camera is a handheld gadget that we can easily maneuver around your oral cavity to get an up-close and detailed view of hard-to-see areas of your mouth. The footage can be viewed on a large chairside monitor as well, which allows us to show you exactly what we’re looking at and better explain how recommended treatment plans will fix the issue. With the high-quality camera on the end of it, we’re also able to capture still images.
In the past, dentists would use film X-ray imaging that would take ages to develop and expose patients to moderate amounts of radiation. Today, we use our Dexis all-digital X-ray system to capture clearer images of your mouth, so we can easily diagnose cysts, impacted teeth, infections, and even tumors. The process is more comfortable than film X-ray imaging and reduces radiation exposure by up to 90 percent, making it completely safe for both children and adults.
